Complete guide

About the image-to-SVG vectorizer

A free bitmap-to-vector converter that traces raster images (PNG, JPG, WebP) into crisp, infinitely scalable SVG files directly in your browser. It is built for logos, icons, signatures, line art, and simple illustrations that need to scale from a favicon to a billboard without pixelation.

How it works

The tool uses the ImageTracer engine compiled for the browser. It quantizes the image into color layers, traces edges into geometric paths, and emits an SVG that can be edited in any vector editor. Tunable settings control color count, path smoothing, and detail threshold, so you can trade file size against fidelity. Flat-color source art traces cleanly into near-perfect geometry; the resulting SVG is typically smaller than the source PNG.

Limits & requirements

Vector tracing is designed for hard-edged, flat-color artwork — logos, sketches, signatures. Photographs and detailed paintings produce unwieldy SVGs and are better handled by upscaling instead. Any modern browser works; processing speed scales with image dimensions and detail settings.

Privacy

All tracing runs on your device. Brand assets and client artwork are never uploaded, and source files remain untouched on your machine.

Support

Questions, answered.

Logos, icons, line art, and flat illustrations with clean edges. Photographs can be vectorized but produce very large SVG files with posterized colors — not recommended.
