About the image-to-vector converter

A free bitmap-to-vector converter that traces raster images (PNG, JPG, WebP) into crisp, infinitely scalable SVG and DXF files directly in your browser. It is built for logos, icons, signatures, line art, and simple illustrations that need to scale from a favicon to a billboard without pixelation.

How it works

The tool runs a custom pure-TypeScript engine: median-cut quantization reduces the image to a chosen number of color layers, a single-pass crack-following tracer walks the boundaries of each layer, and Douglas-Peucker simplification with Catmull-Rom curve fitting turns them into smooth Bézier paths. The result is a layered SVG with even-odd fills that stays editable in Figma, Illustrator, or Inkscape — or a per-color-layer DXF (R12) for CAD tools, laser cutters, and vinyl plotters. Before exporting you can recolor or hide individual palette layers, drop the detected background, and pick presets tuned for logos, clip art, photos, and line art. Flat-color source art traces cleanly into near-perfect geometry; the resulting SVG is typically smaller than the source PNG.

Limits & requirements

Vector tracing is designed for hard-edged, flat-color artwork — logos, sketches, signatures. Photographs and detailed paintings produce unwieldy SVGs and are better handled by upscaling instead. Free tier accepts images up to 2048px on the long edge with SVG export; Pro raises the input to 4096px, adds DXF export, and batches of up to 16 images. Any modern browser works; processing speed scales with image dimensions and color count.

Privacy

All tracing runs on your device. Brand assets and client artwork are never uploaded, and source files remain untouched on your machine.
